Chapter 2: The Matter of Death
A loud "slap" echoed through the quiet room, especially loudly.
"A Yu." Dai Yuqi exclaimed and hurried over, her face filled with heartache, glaring at Lu Nianwen: "What did you do?"
"What are you doing? This slap is far from enough compared to what you owe me." Lu Nianwen coldly snorted: "And you, still so fond of other people's things, from childhood to adulthood, your habits haven't changed, have they? You like picking up things that others don't want. Let me tell you, the things I don't want, anyone can touch, except for you."
That slap seemed to have no effect on Shang Yu: "If it's enough, come back, I and she, just playing around."
"Even little kids have them now, and you say it's just for fun? How disgusting."
"Her children can be abandoned, I only want you and the child we have together." The usually calm and gentle him made people feel very comfortable, but when he said this sentence, it really made one's hair stand on end.
Dai Yuqi stared at him in a daze, not daring to believe that he could so calmly decide the fate of his own child.
"Shang Yu, I've finally figured you out. You two are indeed a wolf and a dog, a perfect match. It's just that because of the business trip, all my documents were inside, and I regret not having better eyesight to see through such a man earlier. One mistake led to so many years of mistakes."
She took off the wedding ring on her hand and threw it away with force, then turned around and left without looking at them again.
"What's going on?" Lu Nianwen opened her eyes, feeling nothing, no pain, no weight... it was as if all her organs had died. Where was she? The hospital? That's right, she had gotten drunk at the bar, and then... and then there was a car accident. And the person who drove into her, looked like someone... She was almost completely drunk at the time, but the driver's vicious eyes were still deeply imprinted in her mind.
The person lying on the bed was pale, without a hint of vitality. The doctor was nervously performing surgery, occasionally shouting "Quickly, hemostatic forceps, surgical scissors..."
Lu Nianwen wanted to crash into her own body, but was bounced back time and again.
Standing there for a long time, the door finally opened. The doctor was exhausted to the point of collapse, his voice without any inflection: "I'm very sorry, we've done all we can."
Then, Old Master Lu fell into a coma, and Cheng Po cried until the sky was dark, Lu Kai was stunned, Lu Yunfan and Dai Yutian took care of them with red eyes, and the hospital was in chaos.
"Stretch out your hand to touch them, but pass through their bodies: 'Grandma, don't cry. Grandpa, wake up quickly.'"
It seemed like she had sensed something, and Cheng Po looked at her. Lu Nianwen was overjoyed, but it turned out that her own hospital bed had been pushed out.
"What are you doing? What does this mean? Let her go." A loud shout came, followed by the dissatisfied voice of a nurse. Meng Yang and some brothers who had grown up together arrived.
Meng Yang's eyes were bloodshot, still wearing the camouflage uniform from the field operation, and the greasepaint on his face hadn't been washed off yet. It was clear that he had just returned from a mission. At this moment, his face was pale with pain, and his emotions were somewhat out of control. He forcefully pulled away the nurse who was pushing the hospital bed, and leaned over her: "No way, little one, hurry up and wake up! She's not dead yet, what are you covering her with a white sheet for? Doctor, come quickly and perform surgery!"
"Yangzi, don't be like this." The youngest Lin Borong's eyes reddened: "You, you, just let Xiaowen leave in peace."
Zhang Hang and several others also gathered around, patting his shoulder, with a deep sorrow in their eyes.
