Chapter 80: Meteor Shower

  Chapter Eighty: Meteor Shower

  McDonald's

Flying rocks whizzed past the faces of the human guards, and balls of flame burned among the crowded masses. Every moment someone was sacrificed, someone died, perhaps their death was to protect the home behind them, or perhaps it was just for that high commission, or maybe they just wanted to achieve themselves.

No matter what, they died on the battlefield fighting against monsters, and that's respectable.

"Bang!" A boulder with a radius of over three meters fell on the side of Chen Le's unfortunate companion, stirring up the surrounding gravel and splashing crimson flesh everywhere. Some women around them started vomiting violently, looking like they had just entered Maipu Castle recently.

"Damn it! Here comes another one! Arthur! Watch out and dodge!" Connor yelled to remind Chen Le.

Chen Le dodged to the left, avoiding a large boulder that was emitting flames, and a hint of fear flashed in his eyes: Fortunately, he had set up an ambush, otherwise it was very likely that he would have been defeated by those magical beasts.

"How much farther to the eastern wall!" Chen Le gazed up at the meteor shower, yelling in frustration: "Connor, I think we should hurry! I'm worried that if I get hit by one of these big rocks, my image will be ruined!"

"Follow me! I'm going to use all the skills I've collected!"

Suddenly, Connor's figure became somewhat blurred.

"Rubbish! Hurry up and tell me what's going on with these skills? The sword techniques last time were already strange enough, what kind of ghostly things are these skills!" Chen Le thought to himself as he followed Connor with his Wind Step.

"The swordsmanship is a cultivation method left by some human warriors through long-term experience accumulation, otherwise you think they can reach the fourth level without going through that strange rule!"

"Skills are some special methods of using power, with specific principles unknown, and should be a unique gift for humans in this world."

"Master, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave and rest. Although I feel that this place is very dangerous, I believe you will be safe."

Chen Le quietly said: "Alright, you can go."

"Well, goodbye then! We've already wasted three minutes! Time is precious now!"

The wind brushed against Chen Le's face, although it was very gentle, but Chen Le didn't feel a bit of comfort, instead the constantly appearing corpses around him made Chen Le even more guilty.

"A large number of lost souls have been detected, but since they were not killed by the host or directly related to the host, they cannot be absorbed." A cold voice sounded beside Chen Le's ear.

Chen Le silently sneered in his heart: "A true AI? It's indeed just a system, not putting human lives in its eyes at all. Still, the original Trash is better."

"Arthur, we're almost there!" Connor's voice came from ahead.

Chen Le raised his head and saw the huge city wall. Under the city wall, there were countless stairs that could be reached, and now there were a large number of people on the stairs who were trembling with fear. A deafening sound came from above the city wall: "Open fire! These demons are going to attack again!"

"Catapults ready, on my command, 3...2...1...Fire!"

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" The sound of arrows piercing the air echoed everywhere on the city walls.

Connor looked at the nearly packed staircase and shouted: "Arthur, can you climb that castle wall with your bare hands?"

Chen Le's eyes flashed with a hint of horror as he bellowed: "This city wall is over a hundred meters high! How are we supposed to climb it?!"

Connor slapped his own forehead and said, "Damn it! I forgot you're not a colleague of mine anymore! Wait for me to get a rope, just hold on tight when the time comes!"

  "Good!" Chen Le shouted loudly.

Connor then made a sharp turn and headed towards a crowd of people.

Less than five seconds later, Connor returned with a thick rope as big as a bucket handle in his hand. Connor threw one end of the rope to Chen Le and tied the other end around his own waist. He shouted loudly: "Don't let go! If you let go, I won't guarantee your life safety!"

"Bang!" Another large stone fell beside Chen Le.

Connor estimated that he was charging towards the city wall at a speed of three hundred miles per hour, almost to the point where his face would hit the wall. Connor yelled loudly: "Black Flag Technique! Climb!"

Connor's body flashed a green light, and then Connor was able to walk on the city wall as if it were flat ground, completely ignoring the universal gravitation. Chen Le was not suspicious at all, if this scene was shot into a video and put on the video website of the earth, most people would say that Newton died with his eyes open!

"Damn it! There's another one!" Another flaming rock whizzed past Chen Le's side. A cold sweat appeared on Chen Le's face.

Chen Le felt that his hands were almost broken at this time. This speed was really too fast. However, the time was still short, and in a few seconds, he arrived on the city wall.

Chen Le untied the rope and then found an open space to jump over it.

What entered his line of sight was a row of people dressed in different attire. They were colorful and came in all shapes and sizes. The weapons they held were also strange and varied. However, they were now all looking at Chen Le with fearful faces, as if he was about to face something terrifying.

Chen Le looked around in confusion at the people wanting to know the reason, when suddenly someone shouted: "That blonde guy, get out of here quickly!"

Due to the noise of the scene, Chen Le didn't hear clearly what he said. Just as Chen Le was about to go over and ask, his familiar friend gave him a close hug.

"Boom!" The collision between the stones was originally a very brutal movement, and the flesh sandwiched between them was just a thorough utensil.

Chen Le was instantly engulfed by the flames and reduced to nothing but ashes. The spot where he had been standing was replaced by a three-meter-diameter boulder, which emitted intense heat that no one could ignore.

A middle-aged soldier nearby shouted: "Another one is dead!"

"The laborer is not dead yet!" A pitch-black hand broke through the stone and stretched out.

"Tell me who threw it! I'm going to kill him!" The furious voice came from inside the stone, and it was clear that its owner had boundless anger.

"Brother, don't worry about these for now, I'll get you out first!" A young soldier rushed over and pulled Chen Le out from behind the stone.

Chen Le is now disheveled and covered in dirt, looking like he just crawled out of a garbage dump.

It's amazing that Chen Le's clothes are a bit tattered, but there isn't a single scar on his body. Moreover, his eyes are extremely sharp, and it seems that this guy still has some real power.

"Come on, kid! With your incredible strength, you should join the special forces team! I believe you can bring huge damage to those damned monsters!" A captain-like person said to Chen Le.

Chen Le looked around with a helpless expression, then slowly said: "I am an alchemist, I want to play the role that I should have played, so I hope to find the highest official here!"

"What! This man is an alchemist!" The people around exclaimed.

"Hurry up and bring him to Director Egwene, we need him. With him, our casualties will at least be reduced by three levels!"

"Hurry up! Just find someone and take him over there, the beast's stones are all gone, next step is to attack!"

The team leader then led Chen Le towards a battlement on this city wall, and Chen Le could clearly feel the presence of magic here.

On the road, Chen Le had some leisure time to observe the scenery outside the city wall.

Demons, demons, and more demons! Outside the city walls, they were everywhere. They came in all shapes and sizes, some as large as ten or more meters, others less than one meter, but their numbers were staggering.

"Master Alchemist, this is where Captain Aegwynn resides." The young captain led Chen Le to a castle wall and said respectfully before leaving Chen Le.

"Alchemist! I didn't expect to find an alchemist here! Please come in, the situation is a bit special, so please forgive me, esteemed guest." The voice was heard before the person was seen. Although it sounded somewhat aged, it contained a hint of firmness and confidence that only a military man would have.

Chen Le walked up to the castle wall, an old man who was repairing a magic array with his head down looked up and said: "Hello! I am Aegwynn! Although it's a bit strange, but I still want to say welcome to McPhee Castle!"
