Chapter 84: The Dragons Threat

Chapter Eighty-four: The Threat of the Giant Dragon

McDonald's. The third day at noon.

For some reason, the monster's attack stopped quickly this morning. According to Egwen's observation over the past ten days or so, today's attack was only half of what it usually is. Chen Le went up to the city wall to observe the movement of the monsters outside the wall.

The members of the special forces team recovered quickly with the help of Chen Le's medicine, but since there were no targets to execute, all the members of the special forces team lay in the building where they had a drink together last time.

Chen Le also had a rare break and sat inside drinking with the group of survivors.

"Ma Di! You little scoundrel, you're cheating!" Chen Le slammed his hand on the table and bellowed: "Fine if I have to drink, but what's with this cheating nonsense!"

(Maddy, the temporary captain of the Death Squad, is also the strongest member of the Death Squad, a seventh-level thief.)

A sly-looking thief held up his wine cup, dodging Chen Le's overturned table attack, and then laughed loudly: "Haha, Master Arthur, I'm just making you drink, what's wrong with that!"

Chen Le reluctantly sat back down, holding his wine cup and shaking his head as he said: "Alright alright alright alright, this time! Only this once. If I catch you cheating again next time, I'll definitely throw you out to feed the demonic beasts!"

The other members of the special forces team around him also laughed. They seemed to be enjoying this thrill of surviving a disaster.

Maddy sat down beside Chen Le with a laugh and said: "Haha, okay! Master Arthur, this is my last time cheating."

"Alright lads! Break's over, back to work! The scout just said he found something special!" Egwene's voice came from behind the door.

Maddy threw away the wine glass in his hand and said with a disappointed face: "Officer Egwen is really too depressing!"

The rest of the team members nodded in unison.

"Hahaha! Looks like your plan has failed! Let's go, I want to hear what new discovery Aegwynn is talking about."

  -------------------------------------

At the top of a tall, tower-like structure in the center of the fortress. This is Egwene's usual office, now turned into a temporary war laboratory. The equipment here is very complete, and the crystal projector is maintained and inspected by the dwarves every year.

Chen Le and Mai Di looked at the screen reflected by the magic crystal projector with tense faces.

On the screen, a giant monster appeared. The monster was humanoid, with a body covered in white fur, powerful front claws, short and sturdy hind legs, sharp eyes, exposed teeth, and even visible bloodstains on its gums.

Chen Le's fist was clenched so tightly it made a cracking sound, he would never forget this creature.

Bimon! The war god of the beastmen, the guardian of the Beastman Imperial Family, and also the greatest test that Chen Le faced in his quest to annihilate the Tiger Tribe.

What made Chen Le curious was that Baimon's hair was usually yellow. He had never seen or even heard of a white-haired Baimon before.

Aegwynn grunted and said: "Are you amazed by this? Then the scenery behind will make you feel desperate!"

The screen of the magic crystal projector turned, and a picture full of oppressive feeling appeared in front of Chen Le, and Mai Di was directly scared to sit on the ground.

  Dragon!

The dragon, a green dragon, is flying on the white-haired Bimon, and its body is much larger than Bimon's. As an apex predator in the food chain, the dragon exudes its majesty in any situation, even in this small picture.

Chen Le's eyebrows were furrowed tightly as he pointed at the picture on the projector and said: "Aiguo, are you sure this picture is real?"

Egbert's face looked good nowhere to go, he said gloomily: "I also hope this picture is fake! But I sent two Bo people to confirm, and the result was consistent. Besides, didn't you feel that the natural elements around us are full of fear?"

Chen Le felt that he had to correct something: "Labor and capital are warriors! Not mages! I don't feel any elements around me!"

Aegwynn's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she said, "Let's not worry about that for now. Listen, we need to make the worst-case assumption. From what we know so far, there are around 9 ninth-level magical beasts here, 20 eighth-level ones, and only two confirmed saint-level ones - this dragon and Bimon."

Chen Le seemed to have thought of something and asked urgently, "Wait! Is this Bi Mian only a Sacred level? I remember that the average level of Bi Mian is around 8th or 9th grade!"

Egbert pointed at Bimon's fur and said: "Is this ordinary Bimon?"

Chen Le stopped talking, and Egwen was right, this wasn't an ordinary Bimon.

Aegwyn pointed at the outer city wall and said: "Do you know why those high-ranking warriors didn't show up in these few days of fighting?"

Chen Le shook his head, and Egwene said loudly: "They are now in a tacit agreement with us that high-level warriors cannot intervene in the war. We are very reluctant to break this situation, because our high-level warriors are really too few now!"

Egbert paused and then said, "Now the eighth-level combat strength of McPhee's Castle has only 10 people, including two warriors and eight mages. As for the ninth level, I am the only one. Let alone the holy level. I have no doubt that if those magical beasts attack with all their might, we will absolutely not be able to hold out until tonight."

Chen Le sucked in a breath of cold air. He had originally thought that after getting rid of the evil eye, things would start to look up, but now it seemed that the situation was far more severe than he had imagined.

Suddenly Chen Le thought of someone, and Chen Le said to Aiguo Wen: "Right! Do you know Connor Kenway?"

Aiger was startled for a moment, he glanced around and said: "How did you bring up this ruthless killer!"

Chen Le mysteriously blinked and said: "What's your relationship with him?"

"He once assassinated me, fortunately I escaped that fatal blow. To this day, I still have lingering fears."

Chen Le suddenly understood why Connor had been absent until now, and at the same time felt that he had been sold out again.

Chen Leishen mysteriously said to Aegwynn: "With Connor's help, you think we can defeat that green dragon?"

Aegwyn said: "No way, the green dragon's scales are too defensive, and have you heard of anyone killing a giant dragon in the past hundred years?"

Chen Le lowered his head and said: "I have a way to break through the Green Dragon's defense! However, some medicinal materials are not available in the alchemy hall!"

"What medicine? You said it was!" Egwene seemed to have seen hope.

"Have you heard of Dragon Slaying Medicine?" Chen Le said word by word.

Aegwynn seemed struck by lightning, and he trembled as he said: "Wasn't the formula for this medicine destroyed by the giant dragon three hundred years ago?"

"Don't you know that there's another thing called Ta Ben in this world?" Chen Le's mouth curled up. (Actually, it was a formula contained in the medicinal knowledge exchanged with energy points.)

Aiguo pulled at Chen Le's clothes, without any regard for the fact that there were other people present: "Speak! What do you want? Whatever it is, I'll get it for you! Even if I have to rob someone to get it!"

Chen Le pushed away Egwene's hand and said, "You answer me one question first. Why do you care so much about the safety of this fortress? Don't tell me it's because you're in charge here!"

Aegwynn suddenly became a different person, he extremely abnormally took out a cup of wine from under his office desk, first drank it down, then loudly shouted: "This is a promise! I promised someone to take care of this place for thirty years. It's also sad to say that this year is the last one, didn't expect something like this would happen. But since I promised that person, I must protect this place well."

Chen Le nodded and took out a piece of paper saying: "The materials are here!"

"Vermilion's fingernails, granite puppet's heart, vengeful spirit crystal. Hehe, these things aren't easy to get!" Egwen took a deep breath. "Let's go check out the shops downstairs first and see how much we can get! If we can't get it, then we'll think of other ways."
