Chapter 22: A Performance Worthy of a Movie Emperor!
"Fine, sleep on the sofa then!" Robert didn't dare to provoke Zhou Shaoming anymore and slowly walked in front of Kirsten, whistling and laughing: "Hey, beautiful, you took my place, would you mind moving?"
Christina's eyebrows were raised, just about to get angry, as if suddenly thought of something, tone turned and said: "Robert, Smith Zhou said you have a great background, I suppose your acting skills are quite good? Why don't we do this, I'll give you an acting topic to test how you perform?"
Robert was shocked at first, then covered his mouth and burst out laughing: "What? Did I hear that right? You want to test me with a performance question? Hahaha!"
Zhou Shaoming and Christina stared at Robert in surprise, who was laughing so hard that he fell onto the sofa, holding his stomach and tears streaming down his face.
"Alright, alright, I admit you made me laugh, go ahead and ask your question, I'll try." Robert wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, desperately trying to stop laughing.
"Alright! This is a continuous performance question, you must respond within three seconds! Are you ready?"
Christina said seriously and stared at Zhou Shaoming with her autumn water-like eyes, who was trying to hold back his smile.
"I'm ready! You go ahead!" Robert sat up straight, his face suddenly changing expression. It was only then that Zhou Shaoming noticed that his eyes were very large and extremely bright, shining with an indescribable light.
"OK! You're now in the delivery room, your wife is about to give birth!" Kristina exclaimed loudly, then her fists rained down on Zhou Shaoming's body, who was almost laughing out loud.
Robert didn't know why Zhou Shaoming was laughing so painfully, nor did he know why Kristina had an expression that said "if you laugh again, I'll eat you".
He just frowned and quickly made a show of it.
Robert's expression was anxious as he stared at the door, his hands rubbing together constantly, his excited and restless face appeared naturally, his jumping eyebrows, his mouth wanting to speak but stopping, all indicating that this was a man in anxious waiting.
Robert quickly got up, put his hands in his pockets and walked back and forth in the living room. He pulled out a cigarette and brought it to his mouth, then raised his head as if he had just noticed the no smoking sign on the wall, crumpled the cigarette and threw it into the trash can. He continued to pace restlessly, suddenly rushing to the glass door, anxiously trying to tiptoe and stretch his neck, as if wanting to see everything that was happening inside.
Then he retreated back onto the sofa, raised his head, and gazed expectantly at the door with his fingers crossed, fidgeting restlessly.
Awesome! Although Zhou Shaoming is just an ordinary movie viewer, top-notch acting is top-notch acting! A discerning eye can spot the difference from a regular actor's performance at a glance!
Could it be that he had really stumbled upon a treasure? Zhou Shaoming's heart skipped a beat, and he couldn't believe that this was the same Robert who had just been tormented by his addiction, kneeling on the ground and begging for just one more fix.
Christina was also shocked, her performance may not be good, but her professionalism told her that this was a top-notch actor with superb acting skills and could quickly get into the play!
But she was still not convinced and immediately announced the next performance topic: "Your child is born, it's a boy!"
Robert's face lit up with an ecstatic expression, his hands stretched out as if receiving the most precious little life in the world. A smile spread across his mouth, and his eyes gazed extremely gently at his empty hands, as if he really saw his own son, with a natural and effortless paternal appearance, without any pretence.
"Your wife died in childbirth!" Kristina said with a stern face, then fiercely pummeled Zhou Shaoming who was laughing and rolling on the ground.
Robert was taken aback for a moment, but soon threw himself into it, rushing to the edge of the sofa, half-kneeling on the ground, grabbing Kristina's hand as if she were his deceased wife, painfully clutching her hair, two lines of clear tears silently falling from the corners of his eyes and streaming down his face.
Zhou Shaoming stopped his laughter, Robert's performance was so profound that tears came easily, coupled with subtle yet attention-grabbing body language, fully portraying a husband who had lost his loved one.
Awesome! This is truly an Oscar-winning performance! Zhou Shaoming thought to himself.
"Your son is a genius, he can call you daddy as soon as he was born!" Kristina said jokingly, full of confidence for what's to come, the confidence of watching a joke.
What a surprise! An unexpected surprise!
"Your son doesn't have a small penis!"
Painful, distressing, unbelievable, heartbroken!
"You've won the lottery, and it's the jackpot! A whopping $19 billion dollars!"
Excitement, irrepressible excitement.
"Your son is dead!"
Tears burst forth.
"Your wife is awake! She's not dead!" Kristina almost screamed at the top of her lungs!
Overjoyed to tears, happy to be reborn!
Christina's eyes widened and she couldn't say anything else. Everyone knew that this series of questions was just a joke, but Robert's performance from start to finish was flawless, without considering the humor brought by these questions at all, but rather seriously and professionally completed the performance.
From any angle, this is an impeccable and flawless performance that not every actor can deliver!
"Bang!" Kristina was stunned for a moment, then slammed her hand on the table and kicked Zhou Shaoming, who was equally stunned, before storming upstairs to her room.
"Ah yo, Christina, what's wrong?" Zhou Shaoming didn't understand and hastily followed upstairs.
"Ah, finally can sleep well!" Robert lay on the sofa, taking advantage of Zhou Shaoming's unpreparedness as he went upstairs, and gulped down a mouthful of red wine from the table, then comfortably fell asleep on the sofa.
"Christina, what's wrong? That guy's performance was great! We've struck gold! This time our Chainsaw Maniac is sure to be a hit!" Zhou Shaoming exclaimed as he followed Christina into the room.
The system requires him to find Robert as the leading actor, it seems there is indeed a deeper meaning!
"I know he performed well, very professionally! I'm just angry that I couldn't perform well, not as good as him!" Christina lay on the bed, hugging her pillow tightly and burying her face in it.
"Hey, don't worry! You're still young, that guy is already in his thirties, probably even forties! Naturally, he has more experience, but I think the way he reacted to winning the lottery was pretty shallow and superficial. It didn't touch his soul at all!" Zhou Shaoming patted Kristina's perfectly curved back reassuringly, then gazed longingly at her plump buttocks that drove all men crazy, swallowing a big mouthful of saliva.
"Don't fool me, I know he's acting well. You say others are superficial and don't touch the soul, then you act out something not superficial and touching my soul." Christina was soon amused by Zhou Shaoming, giggling and pushing him who was lying beside her.
"My directing skills are top-notch, it's just that this performance isn't great. However, to make you surrender, from now on I'll reluctantly perform for you under my cowboy pants." Zhou Shaoming burst out laughing.
"Who will fall under your cowboy pants, come on! Hurry up and perform, hurry up and perform!" Christina sat up, pulling Zhou Shaoming to his feet, insisting that he perform.
Zhou Shaoming hugged the pillow, waving it non-stop in his hands, then jumped up and down on the bed, shouting: "Oh yeah! I won 10 billion US dollars! I'm going crazy! I'm too excited!"
Christina hugged her belly and laughed loudly, being teased by Zhou Shaoming, who was messing around, and nearly fell off the bed.
