Trina’s (Probably Incomplete) Guide to Syrin’s Glowing

Note: Syrin insists there are entire books on this, but this is what I’ve pieced together so far.

  • Gold – The Light’s default color. Usually means Syrin is calm, stable, or quietly content. There do seem to be different shades, but it's hard to tell.

  •
  • Gold threaded with green – Almost certain this is curiosity.

  •
  • Rose gold – Romantic affection? Only seems to show up when we like… kiss. Or sometimes when I stabilize him. Also, only shows up with me.

  •
  • Gray – Grief (confirmed by Syrin).

  •
  • Silver – Embarrassment (confirmed by Syrin, but he also said… “among other things”). So maybe shame? But also sometimes when he’s worried? Seems very self-focused. Definitely shows up with guilt.

  •
  • Amber – Seems to be related to amusement possibly? (The color is similar enough to gold, I think I miss it when the lighting isn't as good)

  •
  • Bronze – This one is hard. Maybe determination or something? It often shows up in mixes.

  •
  • Copper – Anger. Usually shows up when he uses fire, but… he’s also usually angry then. Could be just a fire thing?

  •
  • White – Fear or panic. Mostly seen full-body, not so much just in his eyes.

  •
  • Blue-silver – I honestly have no idea.

    • 2.7 Update

Apparently this one is more of the Light's emotion than Syrin's. When the Light is annoyed or uncomfortable.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

General note: Flickering glow seems to mean worry. Or maybe that’s just overload?

  Mixes (this gets complicated):

  • Silver with bronze toward the center – Annoyance

  •
  • Bronze shot through with silver – Indignation

  •
  • Dull silver with an outer ring of bronze – Disgust?
