The Half-Blood in Chains

Chapter 34. The Half-Blood in Chains

Leonel, Stan, Ethan, and Beligor moved cautiously along the winding path leading to the rift between worlds. The somber sky loomed overhead, foretelling the changes to come. Suddenly, distant cries from beyond the dense thickets caught their attention.

Approaching carefully, they saw a group of slavers. Rough men clad in black armor were dragging a bound girl. Her clothes were torn, rope marks visible on her wrists. But the most striking thing—she was no ordinary human. A white strand in her dark hair, the faint glow of her skin—all signs of a half-blood, a being tied to both the Light and the Dark.

  — How much do you think she’ll fetch? — one of the slavers sneered. — They say the Dark Lords’ servants pay well for these. They turn them into puppets.

Leonel’s chest tightened. Another life, on the verge of being turned into a hollow shell. He glanced at Beligor. The puppet showed no reaction, yet for a fleeting moment, something flickered in his gaze.

  — We have to stop them, — Ethan whispered, gripping his sword’s hilt.

  — Too late for second thoughts, — Stan raised a hand, and shards of ice began swirling in the air.

  Leonel nodded. They couldn’t let

  this happen.
