Chapter 35: New Classmate

  Chapter Thirty-Five New Classmate

A few days after the opening of school, Ji Xianan was stopped by Zou Ze as soon as she entered the school gate. "Something big happened and you didn't even look for me?"

Ji Xin'an certainly knew what he was saying, "What are you looking for me now that things have already been settled?"

"But you shouldn't have to face all these difficulties alone." Zou Ze looked at Ji Xin'an, still feeling a lingering fear in his heart.

"It's all over anyway, what you say is useless now." Ji Xin'an said with a shrug of his shoulders.

Zou Ze was so choked by her that he couldn't speak, took a deep breath and said "Next time something like this happens, you have to find me."

"Alright, let's hurry up and go in. If we dawdle any longer, we'll be late." Ji Xin'an parked his bike and walked with Zou Ze towards the teaching building of the third grade.

The classmates in the class already knew that Ji Xin'an and Zou Ze had skipped a grade to enter Class 1 of Grade 3. Ji Xin'an was somewhat famous in school, while Zou Ze wasn't as well-known as Ji Xin'an, but still many people recognized him. As soon as they entered the classroom, many students greeted them. Perhaps it's because girls at this age aren't yet overly jealous, and many girls curiously surrounded her asking questions until the bell rang signaling the start of class, and only then did they quiet down.

Ji Xin'an's new teacher was an English teacher, Ms. Liang Qiuqin. The bell rang and she walked in with a smile, followed by a strange boy. She walked up to the podium and looked at everyone, "Classmates, this student has just transferred to our class for the new semester." Then she turned her head to look at him, "Introduce yourself!"

"Hello everyone, I'm Yao Wenhuo, and I've transferred from City B." The new student spoke up first, although he was very polite, his facial expression seemed somewhat cold.

"You go ahead and find a seat anywhere for now, we'll reassign seats later." Liang Qiuqin added after he finished speaking.

Ji Xin'an initially didn't pay attention, thinking he was just an ordinary transfer student. But when he walked to an empty seat, Ji Xin'an followed his gaze and saw Zou Ze staring at Yao Wenhuang, with a somewhat unnatural expression. And after Yao Wenhuang glanced at Zou Ze, he never looked at him again, but Ji Xin'an could be certain that the two knew each other.

Only then did she take a closer look at him, and he was even taller than Zou Ze, probably around 1.7 meters, with a neat inch of hair on his head, a strong facial features, the kind of person who wouldn't give people a sense of closeness, but even with Xing Xin An's experienced eyes, she had to admit that he was still quite handsome, which could also be confirmed from the eyes of other girls in the class.

Ji Xin'an racked her brains to think back, and she really hadn't seen this person before. She didn't know if it was because they had no intersection in their past lives or because of her own little butterfly effect that this person appeared.

Just as Ji Xin'an was sizing him up, Liang Qiuqin had finished her lengthy speech and was preparing to reassign everyone's seats.

Liang Qiuqin's seating arrangement method is different from the original class of Ji Xin'an. Originally, it was a fair way to arrange by height, but now it's a Chinese-style fairness, arranged according to good or bad grades. Those with good grades can choose where they want to sit first, and those with poor grades will be assigned to the remaining seats. Moreover, the seating arrangement will be rearranged after each major exam, under the name of motivating students to study.

Ji Xin'an was first in her grade and naturally the first choice, but she wasn't very interested in this honor, so she casually found a seat in the back.

The second one to come in was actually Yao Wenhao, who had just transferred and his semester grades were counted into the big rankings, he was actually second in the grade. Ji Xin'an is now somewhat admiring Liang Qiuqin, able to get all the new students who study well into her own class, this is not something that ordinary people can do.

Yao Wenhao made a choice that surprised Ji Xin'an as soon as he came in, walking to Ji Xin'an's side, "Is this seat left for someone else?"

Ji Xin'an was taken aback for a moment, "Oh, no."

Yao Wenhao sat down beside her after hearing that, and Liang Qiulin smiled in satisfaction as if it was only natural for the two of them to sit together.

"Y...y..." Ji Xin'an was still a bit dazed, if it were just her seat empty, he wouldn't have sat here like this. But now that all the other seats are empty, he directly sat down next to her, Ji Xin'an couldn't help but stutter, of course she didn't think he had fallen in love with her at first sight.

"What's wrong? Can't sit here? Or should I move somewhere else?" Yao Wenhuo saw Ji Xin'an looking at him unnaturally, making a gesture to get up.

"Uh, no need, sit here!" Ji Xin'an was embarrassed to death, and couldn't possibly drive him away. Moreover, having a handsome guy sit next to her wasn't bad to look at either.

Ji Xin'an's new classmates walked in one by one, choosing their seats until Zou Ze walked in. At first glance, he saw Yao Wenhuai sitting next to Ji Xin'an and his expression turned even worse, but he didn't say anything and sat down in front of Ji Xin'an.

Yu Yao and Shi Lin had just finished cleaning the new classroom with their classmates. Yu Yao was in a bad mood all day, and Shi Lin knew she wasn't happy, trying to make her laugh but it didn't work well, resulting in both of them not feeling great.

Lowering their heads as they walked out of the classroom, a figure blocked their path. Unhappily raising their heads, both of them simultaneously exclaimed in surprise: "Yao Wenhao?"

"Don't be so surprised when you see me!" Yao Wenhao burst out laughing.

"Brother, when did you come back? How long can you stay this time?" Yu Yao's expression on his face also eased a lot when he saw him.

"This time I'm back and won't leave, why isn't our little princess happy? Who bullied you?" Yao Wenhao also noticed that Yu Yao didn't look very happy.

"Really not leaving?" The two of them burst out laughing. Yu Yao suddenly thought of something again, "Then what about school?"

"Back to school, huh! Silly girl." Yao Wenhao poked Yin Yao's forehead with his finger.

"Can you transfer to our class?" Shi Lin thought immediately that if he could come and be in the same class as them, Yu Yao might be happier.

"No, I'm in junior high school now." Yao Wenhuo said with some reluctance, looking at the two expectant people.

"Have you also skipped a grade?" Yu Yao thought of this as soon as she heard it.

"Skipping a grade? No, it's just that I've been transferring schools these past few years, so some of my elementary school years were five years long and some were six. That means I ended up attending elementary school for one year less than you guys. But what's going on with Zou Ze? I saw him in third grade, isn't he always in the same class as you?" Yao Wen Hua looked at Yu Yao with confusion, this girl who had always been treated like a little sister by him, and whom he thought he knew inside out.

"Zou Ze skipped a grade." As soon as Yu Yao mentioned this matter, the smile on her face disappeared again.

"How could this kid leave you alone here?" Yao Wenhao's eyebrows immediately rose upon hearing this, but seeing Yu Yao become even more distressed by his words, he stopped talking.

"It's still not for Ji Xin'an." Shi Lin said with a hint of resentment.

"Ji Xin'an? The one who was first in her grade and also skipped a grade?" Yao Wenhuo suddenly remembered his new deskmate.

At that time, sitting next to her was not an impulsive act. Although she had been secretly checking him out, it was purely out of curiosity and didn't have any other intentions like the other girls did. Later on, he discovered that she was actually the top student in their grade, with grades even higher than his own. However, this didn't spark any other thoughts in his mind because to him, aside from Yu Yao who was like a sister to him, all the other smart girls were just bookworm types who only knew how to study and nothing else.

So sitting next to her was just to reduce some unnecessary trouble for himself, but when he later saw Zou Ze's gaze coming in and looking at his own eyes, he felt that it wasn't so simple after all. He knew too well that Zou Ze didn't get along with himself, yet she had taken the initiative to sit in front of him, and now he had heard her name again - unexpectedly, she was a student who had skipped a grade this year.

"It's not just her, since we entered junior high school, she has been at odds with Yaoyao, doing everything opposite to Yaoyao. Zou Ze is even more excessive, actually skipping grades together with her." The relationship between the few people who had already eased up a bit, because of this grade-skipping incident, returned to square one.

"Lingling, don't talk nonsense." Yu Yao pulled back Shi Lin who still wanted to continue speaking.

"Alright, let's not talk about this for now. Let's go find a place to eat first. Anyway, I'm back now and there's plenty of time later. We can talk slowly then." Yao Wenhuo didn't want to make Yu Yao unhappy with this topic, so he prepared to send them home.

The two nodded and followed Yao Wenhao's back as he walked away.
