Chapter 54: Traveling Together

  Chapter Fifty-Four: Traveling Together

"What should I call these three?" Ed looked at the three of Dis.

"I am Aeolus, and this is Dismausk!" Aeolus figured that Dis wouldn't say anything to these people either, so he directly helped him out by saying his name.

"Know!" Saber said coldly, sitting still. The clear and cold voice, combined with her stunning appearance, shocked the four people once again.

Ade's four people greeted politely, and for the four people's polite greetings, Aiolos responded very enthusiastically. Saber also nodded, but Dis was ignored with a cold face, looking very proud.

"And here!" Deloris, who was being ignored, stood up from her original spot with Garry, very dissatisfied that no one mentioned her. "Mom, and what about me and Garry not being introduced?"

Francis patted Dolores on the head "This is my daughter Dolores, and the white cat in her arms is Geli."

  "Mom?"

  Daughter?

"But didn't you say you were a boy?" Aisha asked in surprise, and how old are you anyway? You look about the same age as us, how can you have such a big daughter?

"Hmm! I'm indeed a man, but Deloris has always called me Mom!" Francis smiled softly, his warm smile causing the four Eds to turn away in embarrassment.

"Mother, the fish is done..." Dolores said, tugging on Francis' robe and pointing to the spit.

"Hmm! If you don't mind, let's eat together!" Francis said to the four of them.

"May I? Won't I be disturbing you?" Aisha gazed at the fish on the fire rack, her mouth watering.

"Haha! I'm really sorry, I disturbed you!" Ed said with a sheepish expression as he looked at his sister.

"It doesn't matter, it's more lively together, and there are still quite a few grilled fish here!" Francis walked to the edge of the fire pit, picked up a grilled fish and handed it to Deloris.

"This won't be enough! I'll go get some more." Ed looked around at the crowd of people, and the one bottle of wine he had brought was definitely not going to cut it. Fortunately, there were plenty in the merchant caravan. Ed hastily ran back to the caravan and grabbed two more bottles, and everyone sat down on the ground.

"Is Francis also a noble?" Ed poured Francis a cup.

"Hmm! I've inherited my father's title and now I'm a baron." Francis took a sip of the wine in his hand, not as good as the one given by the Pope.

"Ah! Sorry!" Ed said with embarrassment. On the mainland, a son who wants to inherit his father's title must wait until his father dies.

"It's nothing." Francis said carelessly, and indeed he didn't have much thought for that cheap old man. In his memory, the guy was just busy running around for the revival of the family, and spent very little time with Francis.

"Now where are you going?" Lant asked with a mouthful of roasted fish, it's so remote here, is he coming out to gain experience?

"Imperial City, I want to enter the magical academy inside! I'm a light system mage." Francis stretched out his hand, and a milky white light ball condensed on it.

"Really? Haha!" Ed and several others exchanged a smile "What a coincidence! We're all students of the Imperial Capital Magic Martial Academy."

"Huh!? Really?" Francis was overjoyed to run into someone from school here.

"Hehe! If Francis enters the academy, that would make him my junior!" Aisha said with a smile.

"That's not necessarily true! If Francis' rank is high, he can directly enter the higher grade, then you'll have another senior. What rank is Francis now? I haven't even noticed." Linda asked curiously.

"Five stages!" Francis said casually, slowly eating the fish in his hand. Since he could control the power of his bloodline, unless it was intense activity, he didn't need to eat too much anymore.

"How formidable!" Aisha and Linda exclaimed in admiration, both of whom were still 4th-tier mages.

"Hmm!" Lant and Ed were stunned, as they had both received a lot of external help due to their identities in order to advance to the fifth rank. Francis was a baron, which meant he had relied on his own talent! Another genius!

"Is that so? I've met people of my own age who are higher in rank than myself?" Francis thought of Philomena, the Pope's granddaughter, whose rank was higher than his.

"Impossible!" Aisha exclaimed in surprise, are there still people like this?

"Aisha, don't underestimate others. Not everyone is like you who knows how to have fun without practicing every day." Ed took the opportunity to teach his sister a lesson. "Francis, are you planning to head to the Imperial City now?"

"Hmm! Should be about to recruit soon?"

"Indeed. There are many people every year, but the college's admission standards are relatively high, however, you absolutely won't have any problems, and who knows, we might even end up in the same grade."

"Right after entering school, you can be in the same grade as all of you senior students?" Francis found it a bit strange, that's why.

"When we first entered the academy, it was all about ranking and grade levels! Later on, if you want to get promoted, you'll have to accumulate academic credits. Like us, we're doing tasks for academic credits." Ed poured another cup for Francis again.

"Yes, yes! This time I'm just accompanying big brother on a mission and earning some credits along the way."

"What mission?" Francis asked curiously, could it be a mercenary mission?

"It's like this, the academy is on a credit system. After being divided into grades, if you want to advance, you need to have enough credits, and to get these credits, you need to complete the school's tasks. Actually, these tasks are for training students, like my mercenary task this time, as long as I complete a few tasks at the Mercenary Guild, I can get a lot of credits." Ed explained.

"The school is generally still very relaxed, and as for attending classes, it seems like I haven't gone in a long time!" Lante said lazily.

"Yes! Because basically everyone is a noble's child, so they also have magic tutors at home, whether or not they attend classes at the academy doesn't matter, anyway what's being taught is more or less the same."

"Is that so? I've never heard of these before!" Francis took a sip of his drink, he quite liked this system. He wasn't really interested in the classes at Magic Martial Academy, he wasn't the type to enjoy attending classes, what truly attracted him was the academy's renowned library, known as the greatest library under Caesar.

Ed and the four of you were talking about college one word at a time, letting Francis have some understanding of where he was going...

  The next morning.

Ed looked at Francis apologetically "Sorry about that! Dragging you out so early!"

"It's nothing! We all get up around this time anyway." Francis rode on horseback, while Dis and Aeolus were squeezed in front of the carriage. This was Ed's party's last task; as long as they reached the next town ahead, their mission would be over. Ed's party suited Francis' taste, not being like other nobles who looked down on others, so Francis decided to head to the Imperial Capital with them.

Ed looked at Dis and Aeolus sitting in the carriage and finally asked: "Francis, are these two your bodyguards?"

  "Hmm? What's wrong?"

"Nothing much, that day I saw Aeolus knock down several bandits with one punch, their strength should be quite strong!"

"Haha, actually there's nothing much to it, just a very ordinary martial skill! What kind of powerful guard could someone like me from the countryside have? But you, you must be the son of some big family, right? How is it that your family isn't worried about you getting into trouble when you go out on missions?" Francis quickly shifted Ed's attention.

"Haha!" Ed smiled wryly and shook his head. "In our family, it's Grandpa who has the final say. He even helped me choose this mission. He said that if I die like this, it's just because I'm not capable enough."

Francis rubbed his nose "Really? Aren't you excellent? Your grandfather didn't like you that much?"

"That's not it!" Ed awkwardly stopped mid-sentence.

"Brother is Grandpa's personally designated heir, and has always been favored by Grandpa. As for this task, it's because Grandpa's arch-nemesis have all already held their great-grandsons, while Brother still hasn't brought back a single girl, so naturally Grandpa is furious! Haha...” Aisha suddenly chimed in from the side, and Lante and Linda on the other side also burst out laughing.

"Hahaha...... Is that so? No wonder, the old man is always in a hurry when it comes to this kind of thing!" Francis also burst out laughing.

"Yes! Grandfather has already arranged for me to marry Zhang Luo's daughter! But brother always procrastinated, and in a fit of anger, grandfather drove him out. I was also afraid of grandfather's temper, so I followed him out." Aisha said with lingering fear.

"Hmm! The reputation of the old mad dog of the Du family is still quite loud!" Lante didn't care that Ed and others were present, directly blurting out Ed's grandfather's nickname.

"Old crazy dog! Du!" Francis was surprised for a moment, and after messing around for half a day, were these siblings still their own relatives?

"Hmm! I haven't even introduced myself yet!! My full name is Ed D!"

  "And me! I'm Aisha Do."

  Lent Field.

  Linda Wells.

"Welles, I recall that surname being that of a very famous general before the Empire... As for Field..." Francis looked at Lant in surprise. The surname Field was that of the imperial royal family!

"Guessed it! I'm indeed the descendant of that general, as for Lante, hehe... you should have guessed it too!" Linda said with a smile.

"Haha! I didn't think that an imperial prince would still be seen here!" someone other than Francis said.

"Hmm! Nothing to it, just do as you please like yesterday. Which empire doesn't have many princes? You don't need to mind such things. In the Imperial Capital's Magic Academy, who knows how many princes or princesses you'll run into in a day." Lant said with a yawn, not minding such matters.

"And Francis big brother! We've all introduced ourselves! Your turn!"

Francis smiled at Ed and Esha "Speaking of which, we still have some sort of relationship, I'm Francis Du Aries."

  "Ah———!"
