Chapter 45. House preparations?

A week later, Hilda is forced to stop this method of leveling up thanks to the guide fixing it, preventing users below a certain floor from buying weapons too powerful.

“Finally that's over, though it's such a waste.” Hilda looks in her inventory which has basically become her own personal wardrobe with over 20 sets of clothes inside.

“Yea, though, when did you get used to us seeing you naked?”

“Last time when my clothes got damaged, I thought about it and decided I didn't care.”

  “Huh?”

“Yea, I just didn't find it important anyways. Besides, at least now Jamine knows she can hug me without giving a damn about my clothes.”

  “Nice?”

  “Yep.”

“Mom, are you talking about me?” Jamine appears, yawning and stretching having been napping in the system.

“No, not really, aren't you still tired?”

  “Nope!”

“Wow, you don't care if I'm tired but care about her?”

  “Yea.”

  “Discrimination!”

  “Boohoo, cry about it.”

  “...”

“Can't we go to the 24th floor yet?”

“Sure, but shouldn't you at least wait for your survivor achievement’s cooldown?”

  “I suppose, let's take a break then.”

  “Yea, what about the territory?”

“Huh? I don't feel like it.”

  “You said you would ‘eventually.”

“Yea, ‘eventually’, so please wait till I'm about to age to death.”

  “You're a filthy liar.”

“I know and besides, I didn't promise anything.”

  “I guess so.”

“Jamine, what about you, anything you wanna do?”

  “...”

  “Jamie?”

Hilda looks down at Jamine who is hugging her leg, making sure her acidity is reduced so Hilda doesn't get hurt but melting through the bottom parts of her pants and sleeping.

  “oh.”

  “Hilda, so, the terr—”

“No, we already have a house in the territory don't we?”

  “Yea?”

“How about building one? On the tenth floor?”

  “Oh, that sounds nice!”

  “Yep.”

  Hilda nudges Jamine awake.

  “Mom?”

“I knew it, you were still tired just now.”

  “I wasn't!”

  “You were.”

  “Not!”

  “Bad girl.”

  “Hmph!”

“Jamine, wanna build a house with me and Shila?”

  “House with mom? Yes! Fun!”

“Alright, but remember, no more arguing back”

“But Hilda… you have no experience in any form of architecture, do you?”

  “Nope, none at all!”

  “Well, this'll be interesting.”

“Mom? What kind of house are we building?”

“A big, expensive, unique house. One with a great view, every form of necessity with the most important factor being that it's a flying fortress and weapon, dimly lit, comfortable.”

“Hilda, you currently have 600K points since almost every time you blew up you also gained some extra.”

  “Nice.”

“Mom, where are we going to build it?”

  “Somewhere isolated, somewhere safe.”

  “Sure!”

“Hilda, nearly no location on the tenth floor exists like that.”

“I expected it. Hence why we'll make it.”

  “How?”

“We need points, I'll increase my mental magic and combine it with light magic to make an extreme illusion.”

“The best method would be to go on a slaughter.”

“Ha, simple enough, let's kill everybody.”

  “The guide said not to.”

“No, he said not to blow it up, but if I slaughter them it would be fair play, no?”

  “I… suppose not?”

Jamine and Shila both look at Hilda who is looking over the town with enthusiasm along with a small bit of fanaticism.

  “Fuck, I forgot.”

  “Fuck?”

  “Jamine, don't say that.”

  “What did sis forget?”

“One of your mom’s goals in life has always been to afford a big, amazing house, second to none for her sis.”

  “For aunt?”

  “Yea.”

“Shila, Jamine, enough gossiping, leach everybody in the city.”

“But it won't do much to them though?”

“It'll provide me enough mana to slaughter them all.”

  “Fine.”

Jamine and Hilda start leeching with most of the civilians not noticing anything while some of the stronger ones notice it but ignore.

“Nice, Shila, make as many undead as possible.”

  “Sure.”

“Jamine, clone as many of yourself.”

  “Ok mom!”

Hilda sends a huge wave of sword qi and mana, consisting of half her total sword with and mana in one swing, going though many houses and killing many people at the same time.

Hilda checks her points, watching with disappointment at how less it increased.

“I did all this only for 100,000 points?”

“Hilda, just stop it and go, there are still many sources of points around.”

  “Sure.”

Eventually, Shila makes around 30 of herself, having gotten strong enough to do so with Hilda reaching level 225 so far, an army of undead following behind, consisting of hundreds.

As they keep killing more of the civilians, some stronger people eventually appear.

“Halt this at once, this is illegal under the law of arc—”

Hilda sends a wave of mana, having recovered enough due to the leach, killing the guard who was attempting to stop her but not hurting any of the stronger ones at all.

“Wow, I guess I should've expected that it wouldn't have been so easy huh?”

“Shila, Jamine, send everybody you got at them.”

“Didn't think I would be fighting such a big fight today.” Shila's Nd Ajmine both send their undead and clones, not being able to overwhelm the guards but easily being able to wear at their stamina.

“Pathetic, they've had so long but are so, so weak.”

  “Hilda, be careful.”

  “Don't worry, I know.”

Hilda uses her sixth sense skill, easily dodging an attack from above as the leader of the guards appears, attempting to finish Hilda off in a single blow.

“You! You dare to do this? This place is under the guide's protection!”

  “It is?”

  “Indeed, so surrender imm—”

“So what? I don't care about that guy.”

“Even if you're invited by him, this is not allowed.”

The leader of the guards runs at Hilda with great speed, intending to cut her down in a single bow as she teleports out of the way in time with her sixth sense skill.

This continues as Hilda keeps mocking him.

“Do you lack manners? Didn't your father and mother teach you any?!”

“Wow, you really know how to poke at old scars do you? Too bad, only my sister matters.”

“With manners like yours, I wouldn't expect anything more than your sister.”

  “...”

Hilda teleports in front of him, using the rest of her sword with and most of her mana to cut him in half despite his level being much higher than hers.

“Wow, looks like skills do matter quite a bit huh? Should've kept your mouth shut.”

Hilda looks up, finding most of the other guards dead with that attack too.

She uses mental attack on everybody else remaining, including civilians as she uses conversion magic afterwards to cause the civilians heads to blow up and the guards to die from blood loss slowly.

“Shila, Jamine, kill anybody left alive.”

  “Hilda.”

  “Yea?”

“Problem, the dwarf and elf we saw before are killing the undead.”

“I guess that that is a problem.

  “Where are they?”

  “Behind us, about to reach.”

They turn back as the elf and dwarf appear in sight.

“Level 800 plus huh? Guess they're strong enough to kill one of the guide's weakest clones. Time to see if I can match that.”

“As the undead and clones all run at them, they attack faster than Hilda could even see, killing them all.

  “I guess I should've known.”

“Hilda, I highly, highly doubt that we can win.”

  “No worries.”

Hilda takes out a bomb from her inventory.

“This is the last one, remember? I had intended to use it for an emergency, but regardless, I refuse to believe they can come out unscathed from this.”

Hilda opens up her shop, finding over a million points.

“Nice, guess I really shouldn't die huh?”

“Hilda, I've got a slight idea.”

  “Yes?”

“How about bringing the territory here?”

  “What?”

“We can temporarily change the environment to our territory, letting our units attack too.”

  “Can they even help?”

“Of course, there's over 500 now, each has a weapon costing over 1,000 points minimally, so they are worth 500,000 points.”

“When did you manage to do that?”

  “Hard work?”

“Good job, I'll treat you better in the future.”

“So how do I do this?”

  “An anchor.”

  “What?”

“Either use me or your sword, as long as it's connected to your soul or system it should work.”

  “Easy enough.”

Hilda stabs her sword into the ground, the environment changing from the stony path into a bright lush green coloured grass, her territory right behind with all the villages on the wall which Shila fixed at some point of time.

  “3, 2, 1…” Shila prepares them.

  “Shoot!”

As they all fire at the same time, most get deflated off their bodies with one managing to scrape them.

“Huh? Oh it's probably that guy, Jacob I believe.”

“Yep.” Shila commutes to Hilda through her mind due to not being able to shout over the guns firing.

Once they get close enough to communicate, the dwarf speaks up.

“You there, you were not this strong when we first met you, I assume the guide's suspicious system is free for your usage?”

“And you, you two seem to no longer be arguing huh?” Hilda replies back.

“This is a human village, how about coming to an agreement? A truce?”

  “Why should I?”

  “Simple.”

The elf fires a shot from her now, flying past Hilda, causing a massive hole in her territory like a railgun shot though.

“Hilda, those are no way in hell level 800s.” Shila communicates in secret with Hilda.

“And besides, we would like to get acquainted with you and on your good side. The elf starts speaking instead of the dwarf this time.

  “What level are you two?”

  “2000.”

  “What?”

“Hilda, those two are strong enough to survive on the 60th floor, they are probably the rulers or the helpers of the rulers of their kingdoms.”

  “seriously?”

  “Yep.”

Hilda stares at them before signaling Shila to close the territory up before walking away with Jamine absorbing all her clients back into her body and Shila getting all the undead to leave them alone.

  “Wait.” The elf says.

  “What is it?”

  “Here.”

She throws a bag to Hilda.

  “A present?”

“Think of it as having high hopes for a friendly relationship, my name is Ayla while the grumpy guy here is named Dhorkic.”

  “Sure, very well.”
