Boxed edition devoted to a single photograph: Gursky's image of the iconic modernist apartment building Montparnasse by architect Jean Dubuisson. The original photograph, dated 1993 and measuring over ten feet wide, is among the best known examples of Gursky's massively scaled, digitally manipulated color photographs. When Gursky's photos were first exhibited they were unlike anything previously seen, and their scale and subject matter seemed to capture something essential about late 20th century civilization.
