46 Three-Part Variations on 3 Different Kinds of Cubes
New York: Dwan Gallery, 1968. Fine. 20.5 x 17.5 inches
Offset lithograph on paper; folded.

Scarce announcement for an important early exhibition of Lewitt's work. Though it was LeWitt's third one man show in as many years at Dwan Gallery, following exhbitions in New York and Los Angeles, but his first gallery show in New York since the publication of Paragraphs on Conceptual Art, which effectively defined an emerging avant-garde movement and established Lewitt as its leading figure. The poster briefly states the essential facts of the exhibtion: its title, artist, location, and time. The text printed on white paper, large black lettered typeface, centrally aligned, wide uniform spacing, no single margin, letterforms pressing to the four edges. The spare precision of the poster's layout conveys the rigor and clarity of Lewitt's work.
