CHP 155: ROYAL FAVOR

  City Lord's House.

A Young looking man sat leg on a grand blue chair, he carried the air of arrogance and mischief.

His face was refined and elegant, neither too handsome nor considered normal.

Merely looking at him, one would think of the word 'Noble'

His blue robe was just as arrogant as him, complimenting his aura perfectly.

A small and faint etching of a dragon and sunburst could be seen on his inner robe as though he was trying to hide it, but a slight movement of his was just enough to show it.

In his one hand was a book containing drawings of different kinds of beautiful women with poses that could stir the soul and move the most stoic man.

In the other hand was a bowl of dried butterflies. They couldn't be called butterfly as they looked weird, like tiny human figures with wings, but at the same time butterfly.

  Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

An irritating sound rang out as he munched on this snack while admiring the images in the book.

Opposite this young man was an older looking woman dressed in red, probably in her early forties, but in a cultivation world, appearance could never be used to determine one's age.

"You have caused many mischief in my land, how do you plan to pay for it." The feminine voice of the woman rang out, her words were more of a statement than a question.

"Hmm" the young man hummed softly, his gaze never breaking from the book.

The woman stared at him calmly as if the killing Intent permeating the room wasn't coming from her.

After a while, the Young man raised his eyes and stared at her face in a scrutinizing manner.

The next moment, he shook his head slowly and looked back at the book.

Then in a casual manner, he spoke with such arrogance that it seems as though he was born with it.

"I would have granted you a Royal favor by adding you to my beauty list, but....." His eyes flickered to her face.

He shook his head again, as if in pity. "...Too old" he muttered in a bored tone.

The Woman's expression remain placid as if his words didn't move her but the change in atmosphere spoke otherwise.

If the killing Intent in the room was just a knife before, it has now turned into an unforgiving sword ready to strike at the slightly twitch.

Yet still, the Young Man remain unmoved as if he couldn't feel any of it, he continued admiring the beauties in the book.

The tension stretched for a long while, but despite how much killing Intent the City lord is emmiting, there seemed to be something holding her back.

The Young man also was obviously relying on something since he was merely a Mid-Essence Core Realm Cultivator while the City Lord was a Deity Realm expert.

The difference in their strength is as vast as the heavens and the earth.

  Suddenly, the City Lord chuckled.

It rang out especially dark in the silent room, she also withdrew her killing Intent and stared at the young man in amusement.

The Young man raised his head and stared at her, a little confused.

The City Lord was even more amused. "Young one, I really admire your courage, very few posses such." Her lips curved into a beautiful arc.

The young man stared at her as if trying to see through her Soul, before nodding in agreement.

"What do you expect from the Son of an Overlord, is your mindset that low?"

He spoke as casually as ever as if he didn't just insulted a Deity.

He shook his head again before looking back at his book. "More reason I won't grant you my favor, I like young beauties with brain." He added.

The City Lord chuckled even more, she didn't look a bit angry.

A tea set appeared on the table between them. She poured tea in two cup and placed one in front of the young man.

The young man looked at her again, his gaze more scrutinizing this time.

"Since you have been so obedient, I'll advice you...don't try anything regretful so you don't lose your lifetime cultivation." He ignored the tea and lowered his gaze again before adding. "It will be such a pity."

The City Lord picked up her teacup and sipped calmly, her eyes looking beyond the walls of the room. "Don't worry, Young Master Jin?" She asked and looked back at him. "I will only decide when your Jin brothers arrive, I personally invited them."

The young man was about to flip a page when his hand froze. He looked up at the City Lord, and for the first time, his calm expression cracked. His eyes were filled with surprise. "You invited my brothers?"

  He asked.

"I can't?" She didn't look at him as she asked, but her senses caught every single movement of his, no twitch went unnoticed.

Her eyes were looking beyond the room again.

The young man didn't answer her question, he simply lowered his head in thought before he resumed flipping the book.

  Crunch!

He didn't forget chewing on his butterfly.

"Another troublesome guests." the City Lord muttered under her breath.

  At the City Lord gate.

"I will only ask once again, who are you?" Wu Han questioned the two men before him, Jin Yu and Seer.

Seer has his eyes closed and arms crossed behind him, regarding his surrounding with serene detachment.

Jin Yu crossed one arm behind his back while he poked his ear with his pinky.

"What a loud cog, cease barking and call me your master, don't keep this Young Lord waiting."

  Ding!

  influence points +10,000(Anger)

Wu Han's eyes flared with fire, then the silver spear with black rings he used earlier appeared in his hand. "Then I will have to chase you."

The first ring trembled violently as he infused his qi into the spear.

Jin Yu watched with calm indifference, waiting for Wu Han to attack him so he can have the perfect excuse to cause trouble.

Already picturing his opening words, a smirk tugged at his lips.

Should I say arrogantly 'how dare you attack this young master?!' or act more cooler and say 'you are seeking death, lowly bug' then bang, I'll send him flying.

Or even super duper cool 'mortal, you have gained my wrath, now die!' then swish, I lope his head off.

No no no, killing him would be such a waste, how do I farm influence points when I kill every farmers that offends me? I'll just strangle them with my words.

  Hmm, that's better.

Jin Yu nodded repeatedly like a sage at his wise thoughts.

An happy smile formed on his face as his eyes followed every movement of Wu Han.

He almost broke into a grin when Wu Han's finger was about to brush over the spear.

That's what he did earlier, go go baby!

  He shouted in his mind.

But then his happiness was soon cut short when a feminine voice drifted out calmly from inside the mansion.

  "Let them in."

  Wu Han stopped mid-attack.

  Jin Yu's smile froze.

It took a while for him to process the words, and when he did, his eyes widened in disbelief and he didn't know when he cursed out.

"You frickin little twerp!, How dare you short lived my happy moment?!, bring your neck, let me cut it!"

"Pfft" Seer didn't know when a laughter escaped his mouth. He quickly covered his mouth to restrain it.

But when Jin Yu spoke again,

"Damn I want to eat her flesh!"

  he totally lost control.

  "Pfft, hahahahahahahaha!"

  DING!

  "How dare you bastard!"

Wu Han got clouded with anger and sent his spear flying towards Jin Yu.

But his eyes almost popped out of its socket when—Shrinnnng!

The spear trembled as Jin Yu's hand clasped around it firmly, the tip just an inch from his forehead.

Seer's smile instantly vanished, replaced by the eerie calmness of promised disaster.

Jin Yu's anger also disappeared, replaced by a cold indifference.

His dark chilling eyes shifted from the spear to Wu Han.

Then slowly, almost theatrically, his voice came out low and dangerous.

  "Mortal....you have gained my wrath...
