Message from the Silent Puppet
Leonel walked ahead, making his way through the dense forest. The rift between worlds was nearby, but its location constantly shifted, as if the very fabric of reality was trying to conceal its wound. Behind him, Stan and Ethan followed, prepared for whatever lay ahead. Beligor, however, remained silent, indifferent to everything happening around him.
Leonel kept a close eye on him. He knew that a puppet could not deceive—it had no desires, no past. And yet, there was something strange about him…
Suddenly, Beligor stopped and, without saying a word, handed Leonel a folded piece of parchment.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
— What is this? — Leonel asked cautiously, but received no response.
He unfolded the note and read the lines written in a precise, emotionless script:
"The boundary between the world of Light and the world of Darkness. The rift’s point. Here lies the line that separates one from the other. The gates have weakened. The Lords already know."
Leonel quickly looked up, but Beligor’s face remained just as empty.
— Where did you get this? Who gave you this note? — Leonel’s voice was tense.
Beligor did not answer. He simply stared at him with those cold, unreadable eyes, and for a moment, Leonel thought he saw the shadow of something deeper within…
— We need to hurry, — Ethan finally said, glancing over Leonel’s shoulder. — If the gates have weakened, we don’t have much time.
Leonel nodded, clenched the note in his hand, and stepped forward.
The boundary betwee
n worlds awaited them.
