“What does she know that would make her ignore you?” Bell quickly asked.
“It isn’t simply ignoring, any connection we had before is completely severed now.” I avoided the question and spoke lightly.
“Completely severed! What kind of information would make it that bad?” Bell asked again, but whether she was just insensitive or crudely curious I no longer tried to figure out.
“If I told you, would the same not happen to you?” I replied coldly.
“In other words you don’t want to let me go. How sweet.” Bell seemed to take the worst interpretation of my words.
However, her words didn’t seem to be entirely wrong.
“It’s not like that.” I answered, trying to cover up my own foolishness.
“Then what is it like?” Bell kept pushing forward without any consideration.
I refused to answer, but that only proved Bell right.
Through the silence I heard Kaede’s conversation continue.
“I am sorry, but I happen to be busy this weekend. I won’t be able to go out with you.” Kaede said calmly, but her eyes were panicked.
“Then we could go even sooner if it is fine with you. I will clear my schedule so we can go out anytime.” The handsome blond student responded very politely.
“I am sorry-” Kaede continued hesitantly, but it seemed like she did not want to make excuses. Instead she searched the classroom, likely looking for any savior.
Her eyes locked onto mine, they looked so desperate yet delicate.
A shock went through my entire body. Like a clogged pipe being cleared my thoughts began to flow afresh. I suddenly understood something that was definitely horrible, but it was also right.
It doesn’t have to be a two way street.
I can’t ignore her looking for my help. I have to stand up now, or I will lose another part of myself.
The thoughts encroached on my mind similarly to when I gaze into the sins of people's souls. Except these thoughts were not disgusting, they even felt slightly comfortable.
I rose very quickly from my chair. The commotion caused everyone’s attention to be fixed on my actions. Kaede's face had a glance of hope, but remained desperate.
I slowly walked over to the pair, who slowly watched me approach.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
“Do you need something?” The Blond student asked politely.
“She doesn’t want to go out with you, end it here.” I responded calmly, however my heart was thumping wildly in my chest.
“Don’t you think it is rude to answer for her? If she really didn’t want to, she could just tell me.” Blondy answered politely. He looked very innocent, and it made me feel bad to do this to such a nice person.
I looked back at Kaede, in reaction she frighteningly took a step back. Her action hurt my heart but I had already resolved to do this, even if it was only me, alone.
“But you don’t think it is rude to pester her to no end?” I said sarcastically, I would need to fight back until I saw an opportunity.
“I didn’t think I was pestering her. I would like to apologize if that was the case.” He said looking over to Kaede. Kaede only looked at the ground, apparently still frightened by my sudden actions.
“Let's just end this here.” I offered.
“That might be for the better, My name is Johnny Jewel, my uncle is the principal, so if you need some help I am your man.” He offered his hand with a big smile that did show a slight resemblance to the principal.
“Okay then, my name is Azure Barrett.” I said, offering my hand.
However, suddenly a fist collided with my face. I fell to the ground and landed on my back, the air knocked out of me. The entire classroom was shocked. I looked up from the ground and saw Johnny in between myself and Kaede with his arms held up in protection.
However Johnny had a frightened look on his face.
“Y-y-your Azure Barrett?” He asked with a genuine fear in his eyes.
“Yes, what does it have to do with you? It seems punching is an innapro-” But Johnny cut me off.
“You-you-your a murderer,” He quickly said, keeping his fearful expression. The entire class was silent waiting for a response.
“You killed someone.” He added on.
“And what if I did?” I asked like it was normal. My words had basically confirmed his previous words. I saw a strange twinge in Johnny’s eyes, but I didn’t know what it meant.
Everyone’s eyes fell on me again, this time with genuine fear.
“I can’t allow you to go to school. You are a danger and should be expelled.” Johnny said righteously. Everyone in the classroom regained their vigor. Soon they began to yell at me.
“Get out.”
“You Murderer.”
“How could you?”
“Human life is precious.”
I looked around stressed. My classmates were against me.
I looked to the people around me, hopeful for even a little trust.
Bell cowered as soon as my eyes met hers.
Abby only stood shocked and jumped when she saw me look at her.
Ms. Copper stared unfixed with a dark look in her eyes, as if she was broken.
All people that were close to me before, that I had even a little trust for.
I finally looked over to the person whose thoughts I cared about the most. However, the look of fear in Kaede’s eyes was the most frightening.
After that It only took moments to seal my heart away from everything happening. The black wave engulfed me whole, and I could not feel any emotion or pain.
The yells of the classmates felt quiet as I ignored them, and I made the decision to leave the school. However when I left the classroom the yells followed, spreading until the entire school was chasing and calling for my expulsion.
Once I got outside and was walking towards a gate suddenly an apple hit me in the back of the head. To hit that accurately the person must have played baseball or something similar.
I ignored the apple as other objects flew past me. Not once did I turn my back.
I walked out of school and once again found myself truly lost and entirely alone.
