Chapter Three Reunion
Ji Xin'an certainly knew which class he was in, but still pretended to scan with the corner of his eye. He just wanted to tell him, but thought it wasn't right. Since he didn't even know what his name was, he opened his mouth and asked: "What's your name?"
Zou Ze was taken aback for a moment, seemingly having forgotten the question, and smiled self-deprecatingly: "I'm Zou Ze."
"You're also in Class 8, no need to squeeze over there again." Ji Xin'an saw that his handsome face was already slightly sweaty, apparently he had been squeezing in with the others for the previous few classes. Ji Xin'an suddenly felt that even such a small thing had benefits after rebirth.
"Class 8! You're also from Class 8!" Zou Ze thought of what she had just said about going to the classroom.
"Right! I'm also in Class 8 now. From now on, we're classmates. My name is Ji Xin'an." Ji Xin'an extended his hand proactively.
"My name is Zou Ze, nice to meet you. Being in the same class as you is my honor." A pair of slender and long-fingered hands grasped Chi Xin'an's outstretched hand.
The two of them exchanged a smile.
"Let's go to the classroom! It's too hot here." suggested Zou Ze.
"Alright, are you alone? No parents accompanying you?" Ji Xin'an saw that the crowd was getting bigger and bigger, so he walked out with Zou Ze.
"My family members have always been trustworthy, besides, aren't you also by yourself?" Zou Ze discovered that the two of them had chatted for half a day, and no adults came over to Ji Xin'an's side, so he concluded that she was also there alone.
Ji Xin'an smiled and said: "It's already so hot today, coming here to get sunburned is suffering enough, why make more people suffer?"
As the two of them chatted and walked into the classroom, there were already some students sitting together in twos and threes, chatting and occasionally bursting out laughing.
Ji Xin'an knew that some of them were classmates who had graduated from different elementary schools, and it was considered very lucky to be assigned to the same class. Although Ji Xin'an was familiar with them, they didn't know her!
The only one who knows me is Zou Ze, but we haven't gotten familiar enough to sit together alone yet.
Ji Xin'an found a casual, unoccupied seat by the window and sat down. Zou Ze, who seemed to dislike noisy places, greeted them and sat behind Ji Xin'an.
Zou Ze's relationships were quite good, and from time to time someone would come over to talk to him. The seats in the inner row were soon filled, but Ji Xin'an didn't join in with them, just listened quietly.
Just sat for a while, others came in one after another. Students of this age are still very disciplined. Most people who came in knew each other, but there were only a few who could call out names, after all, it had been so many years since they last contacted each other.
The head teacher of Class 8 is a male teacher named Liu Liren, who teaches Chinese. He has some myopia and wears a pair of thin-rimmed glasses, looking very elegant, but he is somewhat pedantic and has the habit of most teachers, preferring to favor good students.
After all the students had come in, the class teacher walked in with a list of student names.
After coming in, they first made a self-introduction, then took roll call, carefully listening to each name, and Ji Xin'an matched the people with their names one by one.
Teacher Liu called all the students to line up in the corridor and start assigning seats. Since it was just the beginning of junior high school, although there were entrance exam scores, everyone still had a lot of room for improvement or decline, so they were only assigned seats by height. Ji Xin'an knew that about one semester later, it wouldn't be like this anymore. At that time, those who studied well would get to choose their seats.
Ji Xin'an had completely forgotten which side she was on back then, and didn't know if she would end up like her past life after casually switching sides. But inertia is a terrifying thing - Ji Xin'an's seat hadn't changed, still the fourth row, with Zou Ze as her deskmate and Chen Zhaoji behind her.
These two people used to be Qi Xinan's best friends in junior high school, but they haven't been in touch for many years.
Zou Ze graduated from junior high school and went to a key high school. After graduating from high school, he attended a famous music academy at the cost of almost cutting off his relationship with his father.
Zou Ze is very fond of music, and even formed his own band in high school. According to Zhi Xin An's understanding of him, he regards music as his life. So Zhi Xin An was not surprised by this. Since then, Zou Ze has been obsessed with music, and after graduating from junior high school, they became people from two different worlds, contacting each other less and less frequently, until finally it was just an occasional phone call.
Chen Zhaodi, just by the name you can tell that she was given a name by parents who valued boys over girls, but she was actually Ji Xin'an's best female friend during her middle school days. However, they had some conflicts towards the end of their third year and never spoke again. Although these things seem insignificant now as adults, at the time it meant that two 15-16 year old girls lost the chance to be lifelong friends. Chen Zhaodi later attended a key high school, but Ji Xin'an never heard from her again after that.
Zou Zejian and Ji Xin'an were at the same table, obviously very happy. "Really didn't expect it to be so coincidental, we two actually ended up at the same table."
"Indeed, no coincidence, no book!" Ji Xin'an smiled slyly.
"So we're the main characters now?" Zou Ze rubbed the spot where Ji Xin'an had bumped into him and smiled.
"Hey...... I'm the heroine, and you are?" Ji Xin An deliberately stopped and looked at him with a sly gaze.
"What's wrong? Male lead?" Zou Ze fell for it.
"You can only be considered a passerby." Ji Xin'an had just finished speaking when a stifled laugh came from behind.
"Hi, I'm Ji Xin'an. I know you're Chen Zhaoji. I just overheard."
"My name isn't as nice-sounding as yours, it's quite common, right?" Chen Zhaoyi said shyly, and Ji Xin'an knew that at this time Chen Zhaoyi was still a bit introverted.
"I don't think so! You have to know, although this trendy thing we're seeing now is developing forward every year, one year at a time, but after it's been trendy for N years, it will be like drawing a circle and return to the starting point. In other words, some things that are out of date now may become trendy again many years later." Seeing Chen Zhaoji's puzzled expression, she knew she had gone too far.
"And names, it's the same thing. Each era has its own mark, and your name just happens to not match that mark. Maybe a few years later, when people mention your name, they'll all be envious and say, 'Wow, so unique, so individualistic! Why didn't I think of a name like that?!' Zixin An's expression was a bit exaggerated, but what she said is true. In N years, in an era where individuality shines, the more different you are, the better. Like Wang Xiaoyu, it has its own characteristics, is simple and easy to pronounce, and isn't easily duplicated."
"What will happen next if you say my name?" Zou Ze heard her out-of-date language and thought it was interesting, so he chimed in.
"Look at you!" Another round, "When the time comes, others will hear your name and say, oh my, how can there be such an ugly name? This person can still live to this day, it's really courageous." As soon as they finished speaking, all three of them couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Zou Ze didn't mind her joke, and Chen Zhaoji's good impression of her had also increased a lot.
On the first day of school, the three of them had a very good start.
