Chapter Seventy-One: Apology
In a few days, the school will start, and the second year of high school is about to choose liberal arts or science. Ji Xin'an had been entangled in this matter before. If she chooses liberal arts, she has a photographic memory, so it would be very easy for her to learn. But science has advantages that liberal arts don't have, when she gets into military school, science will give her more choices of majors, so she still tends to choose science.
But when school reopened again, things had changed, and several people who had originally agreed to take science classes together in the same class ran into problems.
Ji Xin'an really doesn't want to be in the same class as Yao Wenhuo now, it's definitely going to be awkward seeing each other every day. But Ji Xin'an isn't someone who lets emotions get in the way of things, she won't joke around with her own future because of this matter. So she still chose the science class, and with Ji Xin'an's grades, of course, she would be in the key class.
The four of them were put together in one class again, only now the atmosphere among the four was even worse than when they first got together.
After school started, Yao Wenhao had wanted to find Ji Xin'an several times to have a good talk with her, but every time he saw Ji Xin'an's cold and indifferent eyes, he couldn't say anything.
Watching Ji Xin'an being gloomy every day, Yu Yao also felt guilty. After all, this matter had something to do with her too. If it weren't for her, the two of them might have liked each other through gradual contact, and then there wouldn't be today's incident.
"An An, can I talk to you for a bit?" Yu Yao looked at Ji Xin An's somewhat haggard face and knew that she must have been having a tough time these past few days.
Ji Xin An forced a faint smile, although she also knew that the matter had nothing to do with Yu Yao, but whenever she saw her, she would think of Yao Wen Hua, so she still couldn't speak to her as before. However, she didn't vent her anger on others, so she nodded lightly.
"An an, I'm really sorry..." Yu Yao said with some embarrassment as they walked out together.
"What do you have to be sorry about? Did you know about this all along, or did you instruct him to do so?" Ji Xin'an also noticed her unease and asked back.
"No, Ji Xin An, I really didn't let him do this, I didn't even know about it beforehand." Yu Yao suddenly lifted her head and looked at Ji Xin An with a fearful expression that she wouldn't believe her.
"What have you done wrong to me? This has nothing to do with you, so don't take it upon yourself." Ji Xin'an said calmly, not wanting to accept this sympathy.
"How could it be unrelated? If it wasn't me, my brother wouldn't have had such an extreme idea either." Yu Yao lowered her head, she also felt that Yao Wenhuang was being a bit too much.
When she mentioned this, Ji Xin'an's face stiffened and looked uncomfortable, apparently still not out of the blow. "That's not your fault either, if I blame you just because of this reason, that's not right, things have passed, don't mention it again."
Yu Yao wanted to say something, but hesitated and stopped herself.
Ji Xin'an looked at her and said, "Just say what you want to say."
"An An, there are some things that I might say that aren't quite right, but if I don't say them, maybe no one will. I know my brother did something wrong this time, but...but you can't just deny his entire being because of this one thing. Although I'm not his biological sister, I'm still the person who understands him best. I can feel that his liking for you is genuine, and in this regard, I believe you can also sense it. After all, true affection can't be faked."
"What's the use of saying these now? Even if he really likes me, what can be done about it? If you were in my shoes, would you still choose to be with him?" Ji Xin'an laughed self-deprecatingly. She had thought about this over the past few days too. At first, Yao Wenhuo had approached her for that unmentionable purpose, and maybe later on, he really did develop feelings for her. But even so, Ji Xin'an couldn't convince herself to forget how he had initially come close to her with ulterior motives. The more she thought about it, the more she couldn't forgive him.
"But you have to admit that you also like him, right? Are you going to become strangers just because of this?" Yu Yao was really just feeling sorry for them at this point.
"In the world of emotions, sometimes just liking someone is not enough." Ji Xin'an looked at her and let out a soft sigh.
"But true feelings can't be stopped by anything, right?" Yu Yao thought that it was already difficult for two people who liked each other to be together, so how could they give up so easily.
Ji Xin'an just smiled lightly and didn't say anything else.
Two people were talking and had walked to the school gate, where Yao Wen-hao, who had been waiting for a long time, stood in front of them and blocked their way. Yao Wen-hao had wanted to find Ji Xin-an for a long time, but he didn't have the courage. However, he knew that the longer he dragged things out, the smaller his chances would be, so today he finally made up his mind to intercept Ji Xin-an no matter what.
Seeing Yao Wenhuo, Ji Xin'an walked past him with a cold face as usual, but was pulled back by Yu Yao, "Ji Xin'an, even if you can't forgive him, at least give him a chance to explain, okay? I'm begging you."
Ji Xin'an looked at the two pitiful people and softened a bit, nodding her head slightly without changing her expression.
Yu Yao saw her nod and smile as she released her hand, hastily retreating a distance to give the two some space.
"Ah, I..." Yao Wen Hua saw that Ji Xin An was finally willing to listen to him, and his heart felt a surge of excitement. However, once he opened his mouth, he didn't know where to start.
"Say it quickly, I have something else to attend to." Ji Xin'an said coldly.
"Sorry..." Yao Wen-hao felt he had a lot to say to Ji Xin-an, but when the words reached his lips, only this one sentence was left: sorry.
"You don't have to apologize, emotional things are mutual, you didn't force me to be with you, so I don't blame you, can only blame myself for being stupid." Ji Xin'an felt a bit melancholic, indeed, as a thirty-something person, she couldn't really blame others.
"An An, I know my actions have hurt you deeply, but we've been together for so long, you should know that I'm sincere towards you, I really like you, don't deny me because of this one mistake, forgive me once, can we start anew?" Yao Wen Hua's voice was filled with a pleading tone, he truly wanted the two to be together again, if time could turn back, he definitely wouldn't have done that again, but it had already happened, now saying anything was already too late...
