Chapter 113: The Second and Third Floors of the Trial Labyrinth 3

A cylindrical tempest of frigid ice instantly assailed the two chieftains of the berserk wolves. They seemingly hadn't anticipated that the opposing side would act with such resoluteness, directly casting a spell upon them.

At that moment, the ice wolf Fenburr let out a howl, and a blue radiance immediately emanated from its form. When Guinevere's Icebound tempest buffeted Fenburr, a series of crystalline glows illuminated its body.

Guinevere distinctly sensed something amiss. "It's resisting?!" she exclaimed, a rare instance of her vocalizing her thoughts.

Kenley nodded, remaining taciturn. As expected, just as in the game, Fenburr was capable of casting the Frost Armor spell, rendering it immune to slowing effects while simultaneously augmenting its physical defense and magical resistance.

However, Kenley's objective wasn't to contend with Fenburr; rather, his target was the wind wolf Fennir. As the primary assailant among the two wolves, the wind wolf Fennir posed the most significant threat.

In the past, during his gaming days, Kenley might have been inclined to deal with the ice wolf first, eliminating the controlling adversary before turning his attention to the wind wolf. But now, he was compelled to reconsider his strategy. With Guinevere in the team, it was more advantageous to concentrate their attacks on the wind wolf initially.

"Immovable Fortress, Physical Acceleration, Potential Burst." Kenley promptly applied buffs to himself. Concurrently, the Cleric bestowed the Gospel Aura upon the entire group (a collective skill that enhanced the physical defense and magical resistance of all members by 50% of the Cleric's total intelligence points, with a duration of one minute). The Priest, in turn, cast the Delayed Regeneration spell on everyone (a group skill that restored 15% of the Priest's total intelligence points as HP per second for all members, lasting for one minute).

  "Charge!"

Subsequently, "Three-Blade Swift Slash!" Seizing the opportunity while the enemy was vulnerable, the wind wolf's once-prized agility was now encumbered by the ice. It could only move slowly in place, resembling a moonwalk. Nevertheless, a green radiance illuminated its body. Kenley recognized it as the defensive magic Windstorm Armor (which enhanced physical and magical resistance and simultaneously increased its own speed). Despite being encased in ice, its velocity notably quickened.

Time was of the essence, for the icebound state would persist for merely five seconds, and Kenley dared not squander a single moment. As six sword lights swept by, with a swish, the wind wolf Fennir instantaneously lost 964 HP. Simultaneously, Kenley unleashed two additional Daybreak Swordsmanship strikes in an instant, employing all his most potent current offensive skills, for he could already sense the baleful gaze and wrath emanating from Fenburr.

  HP - 182

  HP - 191

In tandem, Anya's arrows swiftly followed. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Three more arrows pierced Fennir's body, inflicting damages of -201, -211, and -209 respectively.

In less than three seconds, Fennir's HP plummeted to 2559, with nearly 2000 HP vanishing in the blink of an eye.

"Awwoo!" The adjacent Fenburr leaped backward. Evidently, it had become agitated and enraged. The speed at which these humans were operating was astonishing, as if they had meticulously planned their every move in advance. How could that be possible?

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Fenburr drew a deep breath, and a flurry of snowlight and ice crystals immediately swirled around it, resembling a sudden blizzard in a cinematic scene. Then, it forcefully exhaled!

The biting cold wind lashed at everyone's faces like a barrage of blades. This was the exclusive skill of the chieftain ice wolf Fenburr, the "Frozen Plague." With a range of 50 meters, it was a third-tier water-elemental magic. All enemies ensnared within the icy mist would instantaneously be afflicted with a slowing effect and would lose 50 HP per second for a duration of one minute!

Given that the room itself was only 50 meters in diameter, this attack was tantamount to a full-screen skill!

"It's freezing... Our vitality is being steadily sapped!" Everyone couldn't help but shiver involuntarily.

Losing 50 HP per second for 30 seconds meant that 1500 HP would be drained in that time span. Considering their current HP levels at level 30 (taking the warrior class as an example, without the aid of equipment, a level 30 warrior typically had around 600 HP), someone would perish in less than 20 seconds.

"Everyone! Follow my command and converge on Tek!" Kenley immediately abandoned Fennir, which still had two seconds remaining before the icebound effect dissipated, and turned to dash towards Tek.

His explosive skills were now in cooldown, and the enemy had unleashed a lethal ability. If they didn't address the situation promptly, casualties would be inevitable. At this juncture, they couldn't afford to engage in mindless offensive maneuvers; survival was of paramount importance.

  "Understood!" Everyone responded without hesitation.

Anya rubbed her arms, which had grown stiff from the cold, and still seemed somewhat perplexed. "The icebound effect hasn't worn off yet. I can still fire two more arrows at it!" Just as she spoke, the icebound effect on Fennir dissipated.

"Anya, don't be imprudent at this critical moment!" True to form, at this pivotal moment, the Priest Orphen stepped in. He grabbed Anya's arm and hastened towards Tek.

"Assume defensive stance!" Kenley raised his sword to parry. With a resounding thud, he successfully deflected Fennir's counterattack.

"Tek! Employ the Holy Prayer! Orphen! Activate the Hallowed Light!" Kenley issued the task commands with clarity and precision, without turning his head. Upon hearing his instructions, the two individuals promptly executed their skills without hesitation.

At that instant, a golden magic array materialized beneath everyone's feet. Their formerly frozen bodies were instantly rejuvenated, and the slowing effect was nullified.

Moreover, a beam of holy light with a range of ten meters descended from the heavens. A shield of light immediately formed around all teammates within this radius, effectively absorbing the damage inflicted by the freezing effect.

"Wonderful! It's no longer cold!" Anya held the holy light, her eyes brimming with elation.

[Holy Prayer]: Removes most negative and controlling states from team members within an 8-meter radius and temporarily boosts physical defense for 5 seconds.

[Hallowed Light]: Casts a damage-absorbing shield on team members within a 10-meter radius. The shield's HP is equivalent to that of the protected target. It will dissipate after 60 seconds or shatter upon sustaining sufficient damage.

With this, everyone's effective HP was effectively doubled. Equipped with this protective skill, even when battling against the wind and snow, they had ample leeway in their damage output and didn't need to overly concern themselves with the sudden demise of their comrades.

By the time the shield was depleted, they would likely have vanquished the wind wolf Fennir. The ice wolf, on the other hand, would be much more manageable. Although it possessed various slowing and immobilizing abilities, its sluggish speed made it easy to catch up with.

"Charge!" Kenley charged forward once more.

With a swift slash of his sword, Kenley clashed directly with the wind wolf Fennir.

"I'm coming to your aid!" Guinevere's reaction was equally swift. She immediately waved her magic cudgel, and a scarlet fire serpent emerged from its tip.

  "Fire Fang!"

This was a third-tier fire-elemental magic that enabled the flames to pursue the enemy in the form of a serpent and could discharge second-tier fireballs. It effectively extended the mage's casting range, allowing the mage to unleash spells from a safer and more distant position.

As a fire-elemental mage, Tia was naturally proficient in this technique. Two fire serpents promptly provided support to Kenley from the flanks, plunging the wind wolf Fennir into a arduous battle.
