30. In Poor Taste.

It was lunch time, but I didn’t dare to open my lunch box immediately. I knew the second I did a variety of spitballs, nail clippings, and fresh produce would be flying towards it.

Instead I opened it below my dirty desk and would snap at bites of the sandwich I made for myself. Interestingly enough all the previous objects were thrown at me, but my lunch was safe. Still the feeling of spitballs and apples hitting my back is unpleasant. I had to endure.

Suddenly a loud cheer filled the hallway. I guessed who it might be, but he would reveal himself soon enough.

A blonde headed deceiver walked into the classroom. Johnny was followed by a crowd that comprised likely half the school. Everybody was trying to squeeze through to find a spot to watch.

“Did you finally make up some ‘proof’ to incriminate me?” I asked in poor taste.

“Hello Azure, I have found the proof you asked me for. Just like you said, we have to do things righteously.” Johnny replied with a gentle but confident expression.

“Okay, tell me. What false report have you found now?” I asked arrogantly. Johnny pulled out a pile of papers.

“These are a newspaper article, a letter, and a copy of a death certificate. Is that not enough proof?” Johnny asked with a smile. Everybody around save Kaede, Abby, and a couple of other reserved students, started to cheer and call for my expulsion while calling me names.

“Any of these could be easily fabricated.” I said. “But in any case let's read them aloud.”

“Yes, let's.” Johnny replied. He then proceeded to read the newspaper article. The article which happened to be very vague, mentioned the death of a young lady not even thirty. The article also tried to point out any scrutiny in the case, mentioning a young child with red eyes.

“You call that proof, besides this is fabricated.” I said.

“This is only one piece that points toward you. Besides, how could this be fabricated if you haven't even looked at it.” Johnny said to the surrounding cheers.

“I remember every article about the incident, besides, that is too vague and unprofessional for such a newspaper.” I said, but nobody cared to listen.

“I don’t care to hear your lies, besides ‘the incident’ you definitely have something to do with it.” Johnny replied.

“You say it like you don’t know anything about it. You are just spreading a false narrative.” I answered without hesitation.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“Next, the death certificate. But first, when I found out I really couldn’t believe it. Azure people sometimes have reasons for killing people. War is such a reason, we have to protect through the sacrifice of others. But, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO KILL YOUR OWN MOTHER.” He yelled the last part. Everybody was nodding along with his blatant flattery of justice, but suddenly froze after he yelled the last part.

  “Mother?”

  “He killed his own mother.”

  “Disgusting.”

  “How could he?”

“He is scum-no worse than scum. Is he even human?”

Everybody around me was caught into spreading rumors again.

“Do you even have any proof? I asked.

“I knew you would ask for proof. Only liars ask for proof excessively.” Johnny said before slamming down a copy of a death certificate.

I quickly looked over it, my mothers name was on it. Most of the information was correct, except the cause of death. Which was some special jargon for a stab wound.

“You know tampering with a death certificate is a crime.” I said coldly.

“I didn’t tamper with it. This is the real death certificate of your mother.” Johnny spoke righteously.

“You also know defamation is a crime.” I replied.

“It’s only defamation if it is untrue. All of my words are the truth.” Johnny replied confidently. And the crowd cheered. I was getting pissed. The crowd of people was getting led along by THIS. Making a mockery of my mothers death, and they were entertained by it.

“I think the court will rule differently. After all, if I did commit the crimes you say I did. I would already be in jail or some facility.” I answered with the deepest, coldest hate from my heart. I wanted the person in front of me dead.

“But, there is one more piece of evidence. A letter.” Johnny added. I didn’t know what was in that letter.

Johnny began to read out the letter. It was apparently a letter from my father to a psychiatrist.

“I don’t know how to feel. My Son was responsible for her death. I told him this. How we raised him. How will I raise him? I haven’t talked to him since.” Was essentially the meaning of the letter.

“Your own father admits to your murder. He thinks of you as a monster, and I wouldn’t disagree. And you have been left alone since then.” Johnny added on.

“Absolutely no proof that these are real. If you think they are then you can see me in court.” I replied dead cold. The letter was no different than what my father did to me.

“I will sue you for defamation, and have you charged with fabricating official documents.”

Johnny’s eyes looked threatened but he did not show it on his face.

“I will get you expelled for the sake of this school's safety and morals.” Johnny spouted some nonsensical words about justice.

“So you don’t dare to take it to court or the police. Because you know your claims are only lies.” I replied. However nobody questioned Johnny in the slightest. Right now I was the detestable enemy whose word was pure evil.

“I suggest you leave and come back when you have some real evidence. And you should also prepare yourself a lawyer.” I suggested to him arrogantly. I had regained my cool, but I still knew I wanted to kill him.

Johnny just left without comment, taking his false documents with him. In poor taste.
